Ohio State running back Trey Sermon gets his jersey number

Ohio State running back Trey Sermon finally appears to have a jersey number he can call his own for the 2020 football season.

Ohio State’s football roster is now complete — well, kind of. If you’re like us and scroll through the Buckeye football team’s list of players, there had been one glaring thing, at least for the trained eye. Oklahoma graduate transfer running back Trey Sermon was missing a jersey number.

Until now.

Well, to be fair, the roster on OhioStateBuckeyes.com has yet to be updated to reflect a jersey number for the guy that might be the face of the OSU running back attack in 2020, but Sermon himself shared a picture on Instagram that seems to reveal that he has either chosen or been assigned the number that doubles what he was at Oklahoma.

There’s a good chance that Sermon would’ve liked to keep the No. 4, but that number has already been given to incoming freshman wide-receiver Julian Fleming.

So, what are the most famous OSU players to wear No. 8 you say? Quarterbacks Stanley Jackson and Steve Bellesari, as well as Kendall Sheffield are some names you might remember.

Here’s to hoping the No. 8 becomes a more memorable one for Sermon and Ohio State fans when 2020 is over.
