Ohio State remains No. 4 in Week 2 College Football Playoff Rankings

Ohio State is still right there and more or less remains in control of its own destiny with the College Football Playoff Rankings.

Ohio State has remained in the same spot it was when the initial College Football Playoff Rankings were announced last week. The Buckeyes were unexpectedly idle last week because of precautions taken because of a mild coronavirus outbreak, and the CFP Committee decided to neither penalize nor reward Ohio State for the lack of any further game tape to look at.

Ahead of OSU are the same three teams that were there prior, with Alabama taking the top spot, followed by Notre Dame, and one-loss Clemson. Behind those four teams are Texas A&M, Florida, Cincinnati, Georgia, Iowa State, and Miami.

Through it all, and despite some scheduling challenges and missed games, the thing to take away here is that the Buckeyes very much still control their own destiny in both the race for the Big Ten Championship and College Football Playoff if it can get the next two games in, and then take care of business in Indianapolis.
