Since the cancellation of the Illinois game, we’ve been wondering who on the Ohio State Football team had come down with COVID and will be unavailable. With just a few hours before the game against Michigan State, we now know the answer and one particular unit got hit a lot harder than the rest.
The Ohio State offensive line will be without the services of starters Nicholas Petit-Frere, Thayer Munford, and Josh Myers, as well as back up, Paris Johnson Jr. This could be a challenge to replace that many starters, and it will be interesting to see how the Buckeyes line performs against a decent Spartan front seven. Look for Luke Wypler and Dewand Jones to fill two of those vacancies and either Matthew Jones or Enokk Vimahi to fill the other spot.
On the defensive side of the ball, the biggest name that will be missing from the game today is three-year starter, Tuf Borland. Borland is arguably the leader of this Ohio State defense. Dallas Gant will most likely replace Borland.
In an already thin secondary, the Buckeyes will be without Josh Proctor and Cam Brown.
Time to see if the Buckeye depth is as good as advertised.
