Ohio State offensive lineman Avery Henry now ‘cancer free’

This is the best news of the year! #GoBucks

Now. this is something we can all get behind, even if you aren’t an Ohio State football fan. Sometimes there are things that transcend sports and can be celebrated in life, and battling — and seemingly administering a forearm shiver — to cancer is one of them.

It wasn’t long ago that reports surfaced that OSU offensive lineman Avery Henry received a cancer diagnosis (osteosarcoma to be exact) and took a hiatus from competing on the field. Now, after going through treatment, Henry announced on Twitter that he has been told he is “cancer free.”

This is obviously beyond massive and splendid news, and Henry says he still has four more treatments before he is “officially done,” but we and all of Buckeye Nation couldn’t be happier with the announcement.

Henry took a redshirt season last year, so he still maintains four years of eligibility and we’ll stay on top of any journey that gets him back onto the football field for Ohio State in the future.
