Ohio State offensive lineman appears to be out for national championship game.

According to a tweet from Ohio State offensive lineman Dawand Jones, it appears he may be out for the CFP championship game against Alabama.

It’s game day and Ohio State is making final preparations as they get ready to take the field tonight against Alabama for the College Football Playoff national championship game. The Buckeyes have been dealing with COVID-19 related issues all season long, and Monday night will be no different.

We told you on Saturday that Miyan Williams looked to be out as he tweeted his disappointment at not being in Miami with his teammates. Now, another Buckeye has given reason to speculate that he too will not be able to suit up when OSU takes on the Crimson Tide.

In response to Williams, Dawand Jones tweeted “… same here” with a couple sad faced emojis. While that’s not official word, it does appear that Jones will be out tonight.

While Jones is not a starter, it does hurt the offensive line depth as big No. 79 is the back up to Thayer Munford. Ohio State was already without the services of Harry Miller and a couple other reserve linemen in the Sugar Bowl.

It remains to be seen if those players who missed the College Football Playoff semifinal will be able to return for the national championship game. We’ll report to you as soon as we have official word.
