Ohio State has yet to play a game and already it’s making moves in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports– well sort of. It really depends on your definition of positive moves I guess.
That’s because the Buckeyes started the preseason at No. 2 before the Big Ten decided to postpone/cancel in the fall. After that, OSU dropped completely out. But wait! Ohio State re-entered the poll when the conference reversed course and decided to put fall football on television sets and streaming devices again, but only at No. 10.
Now, in the latest release of the Amway Coaches Poll, the Buckeyes have jumped four spots, all the way up to No. 6. So, if you’re counting, Ohio State has a four-point net negative fall in the poll since the first look at everything.
Welcome to the year 2020.
