Although [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] was a finalist for Texas safety [autotag]Jordon Johnson-Rubell[/autotag], it was seen as a battle for the Buckeyes against a Texas lean for his commitment.
The Longhorns won out. Johnson-Rubell made pledged to Texas on Saturday afternoon. The 5-foot, 10-inch, 180-pound member of the secondary is ranked as No. 11 at his position and No. 134 overall on the 247Sports compositees.
Although the Buckeyes already have a commitment from Jaylen McClain at safety, they were looking to add at least one, possibly two more to the 2024 recruiting class. The coaching staff will turn its focus to KJ Bolden, [autotag]Zaquan Patterson[/autotag] and the potential flip of Georgia commit, Peyton Woodyard.
