Just a few days after landing a commitment from one defensive back from Florida, the Buckeyes have secured another for the class of 2022. According to an announcement on his Twitter account Wednesday, three-star cornerback Ryan Turner out of Hollywood, Florida has verbally committed to OSU. This comes on the heels of Seffner, Florida product Kyle Stokes also making the Buckeyes his college choice.
Turner may not be the four or five-star prospect we’ve been accustomed to seeing pledge their services to Ohio State, but rest assured the coaching staff has done its homework and likes what it sees from the 6-foot, 180-pounder. Turner is ranked as the No. 34 cornerback in the class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. But that doesn’t tell the whole story.
Turner chose OSU over the likes of Boston College, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Penn State, and others. He becomes the twelfth commitment for the 2022 class that has now vaulted back up to No. 2 just behind Georgia.

The news may not excite Buckeye fans, but just look at the list of schools that desperately wanted to land his services and that’s all you need to know. It’s also some good momentum for a recruiting class that had been stuck in neutral for a while.
