Ohio State in a 64-team College Football Playoff? ESPN imagined that world.

ESPN devised a 64-team March Madness-style college football tournament. How far does it have Ohio State going through two rounds?

The Ohio State basketball team is dancing its way into all the madness of the NCAA Tournament, but in these parts, football is still on the mind, even when another sport is doing some pretty special things.

But what if all the shenanigans that go along with March Mayhem could merge with all the pageantry of college football? What if the so-called “College Football Playoff” were actually a playoff and not an “and-one?” Heck, what if it went the powers that be went even further and came up with a 64-team college football tournament? Where would the Buckeyes be in that field, and what would theoretically happen?

Well, wonder no more — at least in the hypothetical sense — because ESPN imagined such a crazy world — and yeah, Ohio State is in the thick of it. The worldwide leader in sports programming used rosters of this upcoming year and the SP+ Rankings to seed the teams. From there it was all opinion through the first couple of rounds, with more to come later.

So where did ESPN seed OSU, and are the Buckeyes still in the tournament as things progress to the regional semifinals?
