For the second straight week, Ohio State wasn’t necessarily impressive but did enough to survive and win against a motivated opponent. That was, apparently, enough to keep the Buckeyes right where they’ve been over the last couple of weeks in the latest USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll, at No. 5.
As bad as many fans felt at the showing in Lincoln against Nebraska, the Buckeyes still totaled more yards and points against the Cornhuskers than any team they have played this season. That includes Oklahoma, Michigan, and Michigan State.
Ahead of OSU in the latest poll is Georgia still at No. 1, followed by https://rolltidewire.usatoday.com/ (2) who somehow moved up a spot despite a very lackluster performance against LSU at home, then Cincinnati (3), and Oregon (4).
Cincinnati's close win against Tulsa wasn't convincing enough for the coaches, which voted for @AlabamaFTBL to take over the No. 2 spot in the new USA TODAY Sports AFCA Poll. https://t.co/2auIZp1jUf pic.twitter.com/u5qLYUaQ26
