No matter what the Ohio State football team does, it can’t seem to get out of neutral in the No. 3 spot in the major polls. Some of it is simply a product of the games that are being played and the matchups, but the Buckeyes have yet to be challenged in a Big Ten that is looking like an upside version of what it has been historically.
In this week’s Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports, Ohio State remains the No. 3 ranked team in the country, mainly because of Notre Dame’s upset of previous No. 1 Clemson. The Irish’s leap to No. 2. also means that Alabama now secures the No. 1 spot after the Tigers dropped to No. 4.
The rest of the top ten has Florida at No. 5, followed by Texas A&M (6), Cincinnati (7), BYU (8), Miami (9), and surprising — looky here — the Indiana Hoosiers (10).
