The Ohio State football team welcomed running back Dallan Hayden to the brotherhood today when he lost his black stripe. Hayden was the only running back to sign with the Buckeyes in the 2022 recruiting class.
Hayden was a top 300 player and the No. 19 ranked running back in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings. He is described as having a college-ready body that can hit creases with burst and acceleration, has wiggle and elusiveness, and does not stop on contact.
He was one of three Buckeye newcomers to receive the honor Saturday, joining defensive end Kenyatta Jackson and receiver Kyion Grayes.

As a true freshman, Hayden may end up playing an important role for OSU this year. After Even Pryor went down with a season-ending knee injury, the Bucks are left with just three scholarship running backs.
While a third-string back may not get many carries, all it takes is one injury and suddenly those carries will increase with the utmost importance.
