Ohio State football’s confidence is building, could make them more dangerous, Ryan Day says

The Ohio State Buckeyes hit the low of lows in the loss to Michigan, but their confidence is building. That could be dangerous for the Ducks.

The Ohio State Buckeyes were not in a good place after losing to the Michigan Wolverines yet again to end their regular season.

However, the work had been done earlier on in the season, and they were easily going to make the College Football Playoff. Missing the Big Ten Championship meant that they didn’t have the potential for a first-round bye.

That said, Ohio State hosted Tennessee, and after throttling its opponent 42-17, the Buckeyes will now get to take on the Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl from Pasadena on January 1.

The Buckeyes should be a dangerous side after dropping 42 and forcing the Vols’ quarterback to just 104 yards on 31 attempts. With growing confidence, head coach Ryan Day has high expectations for this team moving forward.

The Buckeyes took a 35-10 lead into the final period, and this team had both their offense and defense clicking at a high level. To knock off the undefeated Ducks, they’ll need to keep that confidence high.

Day is clearly expecting that confidence to keep rising as the College Football Playoff quarterback nears.
