It’s only February, but ESPN’s Football Percentage Index is already making the sausage. We don’t know what goes in, and we probably don’t want to, we just want to see that final product all tied up and ready to consume.
On that note, the very, very early Preseason College Football FPI is out from the folks at ESPN, and your Ohio State football team is extremely high up on the rankings. OSU isn’t No. 1 though, that belongs to Clemson — the team that beat the Buckeyes in the Fiesta Bowl. Ohio State does, however, check-in at No. 2.
Behind the Buckeyes and Tigers rounding out the top ten is Oklahoma (3), Alabama (4), Penn State (5), Wisconsin (6), Texas (7), Texas A&M (8), Notre Dame (9), and Georgia (10).
ESPN preseason FPI top 10:
1) Clemson
2) Ohio State
3) Oklahoma
4) Alabama
5) Penn State
6) Wisconsin
7) Texas
8) Texas A&M
9) Notre Dame
10) Georgia— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) February 17, 2020
Now, before you get too excited about ESPN thinking highly of the Buckeyes, I feel the need to remind you that the worldwide leader in sports programming had OSU outside the top ten at this time last season.
So, yeah — there’s that.
