We’re all suffering from social-distancing fatigue and trying to find something to fill that empty void left from the cancellation of almost every single sporting event known to mankind. Maybe, on another planet yet unknown to us an alien league is gearing up for the playoffs in starcruiser racing, but there’s nothing happening here on the planet Earth. Or at least in the good ‘ole U, S, of A.
And while it’s all for good reason to make sure measures are put in place to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, it still leaves us missing sporting events and how they bring people together. Well, unless it’s SEC fan vs. Big Ten fan.
But I digress.
One of these days soon, hopefully, life starts to get back to normal, but for now, all we can do is look ahead. College football ended over two months ago, and spring football has also been put on the shelf. So yeah, the void still exists. However, it’s never too early to take a peek in on what folks think of Ohio State for the upcoming fall.
FanDuel released early odds for their “games of the year” and there’s plenty to talk about with some matchups the Buckeyes will be a part of in 2020. In fact, there are six matchups the online fantasy and betting site has targeted, and it is bullish on OSU’s chances this fall. It has the scarlet and gray favored in every single one of those highlighted.

Here’s a list of all the games and lines for the six contests FanDuel has projected and is currently accepting wagers on.
- September 12 at Oregon – Ohio State favored – 7
- October 10 vs. Iowa – Ohio State favored – 16.5
- October 17 at Michigan State – Ohio State favored – 17
- October 24 at Penn State – Ohio State favored – 4.5
- October 31 vs. Nebraska – Ohio State favored – 20.5
- November 28 vs. Michigan – Ohio State favored – 11.5
So there you have it. There are of course other games on the schedule, but these are the ones that figure to be the most difficult on the Buckeyes’ schedule this season. That’s a pretty brutal stretch in October, but FanDuel (and probably others when available) like the Buckeyes in all these contests early on.
And who can blame them? OSU has Justin Fields and some pretty dynamic weapons on offense to go with a front seven on defense that should be just as good as last season.
It’s early, but as long as this coronavirus fight is far enough along to allow the college football season to go off in time, it should be another fun year in Columbus.
