Quarterback recruiting has significantly changed over the last few years, as more and more of them are making early decisions.
Many of Ohio State football’s targets have committed elsewhere, and it looked for a while like the Buckeyes may just skip the 2026 cycle and focus on the future classes.
Fortunately, Ohio State was named as one of Illinois quarterback [autotag]Jonas Williams[/autotag]’ top four along with Oregon, LSU and Alabama. None of his finalists have a verbal at the position, so this is a big development for each of the schools.
The battle for the nation’s No. 96 overall prospect and 8th ranked quarterback according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings will be fierce.

At 6-foot, 3-inches and 185-pounds, Williams has the frame that many teams drool over. Expect Ohio State to put on the full-court press for him over the next few months.
