Ohio State football has FBS’ longest streak appearing in AP Preseason poll

With Ohio State appearing at No. 2 in the 2020 preseason AP Poll, it continues the longest active streak of any team in FBS.

Thre’s a slew of stats and accolades we can pick as evidence that the Ohio State football program is one of the very best in the history of the sport. It is tied for the most Heisman Trophies, has the best all-time winning percentage of FBS teams, and consistently churns out NFL talent better than almost anyone.

But that’s not all.

Ohio State’s appearance in the AP Preseason College Football Poll is its 32nd straight, which is the longest streak in the entire country.

Despite the timing, duration, and status of the football season being up in the air, the AP poll still instructed its voters to include all teams, whether officially playing or not. Because of that, the Buckeyes were slotted in at No. 2, just a wee-bit behind Clemson who edged out OSU by a mere sixteen points overall.

So what program in second? It’s none other than Oklahoma with a streak of 21 straight.
