We followed the USA TODAY re-rank heavily last college football season and we’re doing the same this season. Ohio State hasn’t played any games yet, but Paul Myerberg has still included the Buckeyes in his ranking of all the FBS teams on a weekly basis.
In his previous re-ranks, Myerberg had OSU No. 2, but that run has come to an end. That’s because the Alabama Crimson Tide have overtaken Ohio State thanks to an impressive two weeks to start the year. And while many are expecting the Buckeyes to be very good in their own right, sometimes it’s a case of what have you done for me lately– or out of sight, out of mind.
No matter the reason, OSU is now behind both Clemson and Alabama as it still sits idly by, practicing, and chomping at the bit to get the Big Ten season going on October 24 against Nebraska.

Rounding out the top ten are Georgia (4), Florida (5), Penn State (6), Oregon (7), Notre Dame (8), Miami (9), and Cincinnati (10).
Texas and Oklahoma were sent spiraling out of the top 25 in the latest NCAA Re-Rank. https://t.co/Bjw3o0uNQs

Don’t fret Buckeye fans. What really matters is the College Football Rankings and there’s still a long while before we see those come out. That means there’s plenty of time to make an impression on the college football world.
