Ohio State center Zed Key shut down for the remainder of the season

Key will be shut down with surgery up next #GoBucks

The [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] men’s basketball team will be without its center [autotag]Zed Key[/autotag] for the remainder of the season. He will undergo surgery on his injured shoulder sometime in the near future.

This isn’t at all surprising, even since Key initially hurt his shoulder against Purdue in early January, he has been favoring it. His defense and more importantly, his offense, dropped dramatically and so did the Buckeyes.

Since Key’s untimely injury, the biggest question surrounding him was how long until he couldn’t go anymore. Yes, the doctors cleared him but it was obvious that he just couldn’t perform at a high level even though Key showed big-time toughness trying to battle it out.

We wish Key a speedy recovery. This is now another disappointing aspect of this season, as the Buckeyes are trending to finish with an under .500 record for the first time since 2003-04.
