The Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY was released earlier today, and after not appearing the last couple of weeks because of the Big Ten’s decision to shelve the fall football season, the Buckeyes appeared back just inside the top ten with the news that football is back in the heartland. It’s a curious ranking, but one that doesn’t really matter at this point.
And, on the heels of the Away Poll, the AP Poll was also released. In another curious move, none of the Big Ten teams are included in the poll at all. The usual suspects at the top are there with Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Georgia in the top four, but nary a mention of any Big Ten teams.
But that’s okay. Before you revolt against the Associated Press, it appears as though Big Ten teams were not eligible for inclusion this week, but will be included with the next release.
AP Top 25 will be released around 2 p.m. ET
Big Ten teams will be eligible for inclusion starting next Sunday.
And I'm confident Pac-12 will be joining the fray a week after that, maybe with the Mountain West. https://t.co/N1OXljEqch

So, we’ll wait for the shouting and teeth-gnashing until next week. It’ll be interesting to see if the AP comes in line with the coaches and doesn’t immediately vault Ohio State directly up into the top five.
