Ohio State basketball makes cut for 5-star 2025 shooting guard

Bring him back home to the Buckeye State!

Ohio State basketball is looking to start its 2025 recruiting class with a huge boom.

Shooting guard [autotag]Darryn Peterson[/autotag], an Ohio native, who is prepping at powerhouse Huntington Prep in West Virginia, cut his top list down to 8 schools, with the Buckeyes among the contenders.

Peterson stands 6-foot, 5-inches and weighs 195-pounds, is ranked as the No. 1 player at his position and 3rd nationally according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He’s clearly a cornerstone prospect, one that Ohio State would surely be able to build around.

The key here is that the Buckeyes have already hosted Peterson on an unofficial visit, one of three schools that he has currently visited. He is also considering going the professional route out of high school.

Currently Ohio State does not have a commit for the 2025 class, with Peterson atop its recruiting board.
