The Ohio State Football program recently got some great news as one of the best quarterback prospects in the nation, Quinn Ewers, committed to the Buckeyes. Ewers was initially committed to Texas but decided that Austin wasn’t the place for him.
Now Ewers has received some good news of his own. Dan Hessler of Land Grant Holy Land reported that after updating their rankings, Rivals.com now has Ewers listed as their No. 1 prospect giving him the top spot by the three major recruiting services of Rivals, ESPN, and 247. Rivals was the last of the three to move the Texas high school quarterback to the top of their list.

Assuming Ewers stays true to his verbal commitment, this will be the first time since official recruiting rankings began in the year 2000 that Ohio State will land the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit. Before this, Terrell Pryor was the Buckeye’s highest-rated recruit coming in as the No. 1 ranked quarterback, and the No. 2 overall ranked player in the nation.
