Odell Beckham Jr. dropped by Giants’ facility on Monday

Odell Beckham Jr. visited New York Giants facilities on Monday but it had nothing to do with official NFL business.

On the same day the New York Giants hosted safety Landon Collins for a visit, another familiar face dropped by the East Rutherford facilities.

Although he was not there on official NFL business, former Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. stopped by to visit some friends, including Saquon Barkley and Sterling Shepard.

Beckham did not meet with general manager Joe Schoen or head coach Brian Daboll during his stop and is not currently in negotiations with the team to sign. OBJ isn’t expected to be cleared from a torn ACL until sometime in November, at which point he’ll begin to weigh his free agent options.

While the Giants are in need of a quality outside receiver, Beckham is likely to seek out a team in contention for the Super Bowl. Early expectations are that he’ll return to the Los Angeles Rams, but that is not a guaranteed certainty.

Beckham was a first-round pick of the Giants in the 2014 NFL draft and spent the first five seasons of his career with the team. He was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019 shortly after signing a five-year, $95 million contract extension.

The trade took Beckham (and Giants fans) by surprise, and there were some sour feelings that remained for a couple years afterwards. However, that has faded over time and with the departure of former general manager Dave Gettleman and head coach Pat Shurmur.

Beckham has actively engaged with Giants fans on social media this season and has been openly rooting for the team and his former teammates.
