The New England Patriots sent shockwaves across the division on Sunday, and because of it, they’re now favorites to win the AFC East.

The Patriots have a new potential replacement for quarterback Tom Brady. Former Panthers QB Cam Newton signed a one-year deal with New England. He’ll compete with Jarrett Stidham to become the Pats’ starting quarterback next season.

Newton, a former MVP winner and No. 1 overall pick, will immediately become the front-runner for that job over Stidham, a 2019 fourth-round pick who has barely taken a NFL snap.

With Newton, the Patriots are now another front-runner as well, the one in the division. According to William Hill Sportsbooks, the Patriots’ odds to win the AFC moved to +115. That surpasses the Bills at +140. Previously, it was the Bills who were as high as +100 favorites to win the division.

The Bills haven’t won the AFC East since 1995, the same year the club last won a playoff game. Meanwhile the Patriots have won it the last 11-straight seasons. Per The Action Network, the Patriots’ odds at winning the Super Bowl have also jumped above Buffalo’s. Before Cam, the two sides were tied at 25-1, but New England has since moved to 20-1.

For those wondering, the Jets and Dolphins are currently tied at +750 odds to win the division.
