Notre Dame’s National Signing Day: Five Things to Know

Five-star wide receiver Jordan Johnson hadn’t announced if he was going to announce his signing on Wednesday and some took that as him not being thrilled with Chip Long’s departure and what it meant for his commitment.

Brian Kelly and his staff not only did a good job putting this recruiting class together but by all intents and purposes, just as equally if not more impressive job holding it all together.

With that said there are still a few things to keep an eye on.

Five-star wide receiver Jordan Johnson hadn’t announced if he was going to announce his signing on Wednesday and some took that as him not being thrilled with Chip Long’s departure and what it meant for his commitment.

Although things can always change, Mike Singer from Blue-Gold appears to be in the know and expects good news on Johnson’s front Wednesday:

The other thing to keep an eye is if there is a surprise added to the list of commitments/signings.

Bryan Driskell over at Irish Maven said the following in his write-up on Tuesday, previewing signing day:

Right now the plan is to just add (Ramon) Henderson, but there is another target Notre Dame is making a behind the scenes push for. At this point it remains unknown if their push will ultimately work, but we should have a better idea on Wednesday.

Henderson is a three-star athlete/corner back from Liberty High School in California also having considered Tennessee and Utah late into his recruitment.

I am interested in who else the staff might be trying to get good news out of Wednesday because that’s not something they’d waste time on if they didn’t think there was at least a realistic chance of it happening.
