Notre Dame-NC State: Game delayed in second quarter

Rain, rain – go away (more specifically the lightning)

Just moments into the second quarter of Saturday’s Notre Dame-North Carolina State game, lightning struck in the area and the entire field and stands needed cleared.  The thunderstorms have remained in the area as the two teams remain in a holding pattern.

Each time lighting strikes in the area, 30 minutes are put back on the clock to countdown before anyone can retake the field.  In other words – we could be here a while.

Notre Dame leads 3-0 thanks to a program-long, 54-yard field goal by Spencer Shrader.

In the meantime, since “This Week in Baseball” isn’t available, enjoy a few photos from the first 16-plus minutes of action.
