Notre Dame-Boston College: Bone-chilling cold, maybe even snow forecasted

There is cold. And then there is Notre Dame and South Bend cold.

If you’re headed to South Bend for the final Notre Dame home game of 2022 on Saturday make sure you bring a coat.  Or two.  Perhaps even three if you’re going to be making a day of it and plan on walking campus and taking in some pregame tailgating.

As we near Saturday afternoon the forecast does not sound pleasant.  There is almost no cold like Notre Dame, or South Bend cold.  and it is that cold that is forecasted for Saturday.  Along with significant winds and a chance of snow.  Here is what the Weather Channel forecasts for this weekend in South Bend (forecast updated Nov. 17, 2022 at 1:45 p.m. EST).

Saturday day:
Cloudy skies with afternoon snow showers. High 27F. Winds SW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 40%. Higher wind gusts possible.

Saturday night:
Variably cloudy with snow showers. Low 16F. Winds W at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 40%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.

Stay warm, Irish fans.
