Notre Dame gameballs for 52-0 win over South Florida

Who were the best players on the field in Notre Dame’s 52-0 win over South Florida? The Fighting Irish Wire staff shares their game balls

Mike Chen:

Offense – The Offensive Line

I’m gonna cheat a little bit and pick a group of players, the offensive line. The five veterans manhandled the Bulls offensive line, both run and pass blocking. Running lanes were available for the running backs all game and Ian Book had days to find his targets. I’m gonna cheat even more an add Tommy Tremble into this group too. He was phenomenal and it wasn’t just his blocking. The tight end finished with 60 yards on 3 receptions.

Defense – Clarence Lewis

There wasn’t one player who really stood out today, but Clarence Lewis showed up today. He has three passes broken up along with 5 tackles. Lewis even added a tackle for loss on the day in his first game of real extensive playing time. The true-freshman will continue to improve and play a bigger role as the season moves on. A great day from the young cornerback.
