Notre Dame finds ‘23 running back replacement in West coast star

The Irish upgrade at running back

Just under a week ago, Florida running back [autotag]Sedrick Irvin Jr.[/autotag] decided that Notre Dame was not the place for him, decommitting from the Irish. Maybe Irvin Jr. knew what was to come for the 2023 recruiting class.

Today, Irvin Jr.’s “replacement” was found in Washington running back [autotag]Jayden Limar[/autotag]. The five-foot-eleven-inch and 185-pounder verbally committed to [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] and the Irish this evening on CBS Sports HQ. He ultimately chose the Irish over Arizona, Michigan and Oregon. Limar is viewed as a better prospect than Irvin Jr. and with rumors of the Irish making waves for another Floridian, [autotag]Richard Young[/autotag], there probably weren’t enough carries for all of them in South Bend.

Back to the good news, as the Irish are getting someone who many view as a high-level running back. Limar’s offer list shows that as he held verbal offers from USC, Texas A&M, and others.

The commitment from Limar is the thirteenth verbal in the 2023 recruiting class. Many view the class that [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] has assembled as one of the best, if not the best, at this current moment of the cycle.
