Anytime you see pre-game news that says the first two players listed atop a depth chart aren’t available at a given position usually brings worry.
I don’t know if worry is the right word but concern and interest was certainly one when I realized Jack Kiser would be getting the start at the Buck linebacker position and played extremely well, not getting noticed for the wrong reasons.
It’s only one game but once Shayne Simon and Marist Liuafu are able to return to the lineup I felt Kiser did enough to at least make those conversations a lot more thorough than anyone probably thought they’d be entering today.
Watching Kiser today it’s easy to see why he was voted Indiana’s Mr. Football in 2018.
