Notre Dame Dominates USF: 5 Takeaways

Notre Dame dominated South Florida 52-0 on Saturday. Here are five quick takeaways from the blowout victory that moved the Irish to 2-0.

As was anticipated Notre Dame dominated the line of scrimmage against South Florida on offense, running at will for a total of over 200 team rush yards while averaging just under six yards per carry.

As a result you saw Notre Dame’s entire backfield get in on the fun as we predicted earlier this week as the Irish ran for five touchdowns as a team.  Ian Book ran for three of those while Chris Tyree and C’Bo Flemister had a score each, as did Jafar Armstrong in the games final few minutes to give the Irish the 50 Burger.

Flemister and Tyree finished with 127 and 65 rush yards each while last week’s ACC Running Back of the Week, Kyren Williams ran for another 62 yards himself.

It wasn’t a surprise based off what Notre Dame’s offensive line is capable of doing and how it played but big-time props go the way of the Irish tight ends for what they did in the running game as well.
