Notre Dame beats Georgia Tech: Game balls for Irish

In yet another dominating game by Notre Dame’s defense, one player shined brighter than all others as the Irish moved to 6-0.

Nick Shepkowski Game Ball Awards for Notre Dame-Georgia Tech:

Offensive:  Kyren Williams

Although his fumble being returned for a touchdown felt like something out of Notre Dame’s 2011 season, Williams was the star of the offense Saturday averaging over five yards per carry, totaling 100 yards on the nose and scoring twice.  It wasn’t the prettiest of games for the offense but like we said at the start of this piece, had that fumble not happened (I know, you can’t just eliminate such a thing but you catch my drift), you’re looking at a complete rout.  Hopefully he got it out of his system this week.

Defensive:  Daelin Hayes

This is as easy as easy gets in handed out a game ball award.  Hayes was the best player on the field Saturday playing what I think is easily his best game at Notre Dame.  His pair of forced fumbles on sacks were key in putting the game away.  In yet another game dominated by the Notre Dame defense, Hayes was the key cog.
