Jeff Feyerer’s Notre Dame-North Carolina Game Prediction: 8-0
North Carolina is the 2nd best offense Notre Dame has played this season. It feels like all of the time between the Boston College game and now has been stressing that point.
But I truly can’t remember the last time as a Notre Dame fan where I have felt this confident in the Irish. This all could go to hell but I almost feel this is the first time I’ve felt the Irish have truly been underrated this late in the season. I know they’re number two in the country but Brian Kelly has brought this program to the point where fans should feel uber confident every game. Last season, when Navy was ranked, there were some who were nervous about it. Iowa State. The same. There was no reason to be. Against big boys like Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State…sure there is still reason to doubt. But there is a consistency to this program from week to week that Hasn’t been there in a long time.
I understand they may struggle on the outside as the Tar Heels receivers go up against the Notre Dame corners (in my opinion the weakest part of the Irish defense), but the defense is that good. The pass rush is that good. The speed is that good. And I’m far more confident in Clark Leas bunch stopping the Tar Heels than I am that the Tar Heels defense can stop the Irish offense.
Book will have time to cook. Kyren Williams will have holes to win through. Kraemer and Patterson being gone shouldn’t present a problem. Maybe it’s the turkey talking, but here come the Irish.
The train keeps rolling…
Game Prediction: Notre Dame 41, North Carolina 20
