Skowronek’s Huge Afternoon, Davis Shines Again
On October 24 news came out shortly before kickoff against Pittsburgh it left many Notre Dame fans fearful for what the group of wide receivers would be able to do.
That was because Kevin Austin was announced as out for the year that day, just two weeks after returning from a broken foot he suffered in fall camp.
That afternoon graduate-transfer Ben Skowronek made two huge plays for touchdowns against Pitt and has been seemingly riding a heater ever since.
Saturday saw the former Northwestern captain pull down three touchdowns for the first time in his collegiate career while racking up 63 yards on five total receptions.
On yet another afternoon without speedster Braden Lenzy, Skowronek shined while Avery Davis continued his fine play with a pair of receptions for 48 and 22 yards while having a 29 yard rush.
