Irish Weather Early Storm
The formula for an upset was evident early for Boston College. In the first two possessions Notre Dame came out and marched down field only to see themselves settle for a field goal despite getting five chances inside the Eagles 13 yard line.
Mix in a defensive holding on a third down to extend BC’s opening drive that wound up a touchdown and a lost fumble on Notre Dame’s first play after that and the start left a ton to be desired.
It’s almost like we all saw that coming, though.
And Notre Dame, largely on the back of Ian Book and Ben Skowronek who we’ll discuss further later, that made huge plays for the offense the right the ship and get to 8-0.
