No. 1 quarterback of 2022 class has high interest in the Crimson Tide

Quinn Ewers, who was recently named the No. 1 quarterback of the 2022 class has shown very high interest in the Crimson Tide.

Alabama may once again be landing the No. 1 quarterback in the next signing class, according to BamaOnline.com. The 6-foot-3, 195 pound quarterback is also rated the No. 2 overall prospect in the nation.

Quinn Ewers, who was recently named the No. 1 quarterback of the 2022 class has shown very high interest in the Crimson Tide.

Ewers plays at Southlake Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas, the same school that former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy played for.

Ewers shared with BamaOnline that Alabama is definitely very high on his list:

“The campus was probably one of my favorite campuses that I’ve seen so far. Seeing how they do things and what their priorities are with their players, it was an awesome experience. Got to tour pretty much everything, the weight room, the facilities. Coach Saban is a really cool guy, and obviously they’re a very prestigious University and they have a lot of success in sports.”

Ewers, who is only a sophomore, passed for 4,000 yards and 45 touchdowns, and 3 INT. He also carried the ball 84 times for 583 yards and nine TDs on the ground.

Ewers also shared about how it felt to receive an offer from Alabama:

“They were basically saying that they liked how accurate I was and how my passer rating was really good, stuff like that. They really enjoyed my film I guess. Being able to talk to him (Saban) …a whole bunch of people wish they could talk to him, and I had the opportunity to just sit down and have a conversation with Coach Saban himself. He’s been there a while and he knows what to do. He knows how college football works. It’s just a humbling experience to get to talk to him.”

Besides the Tide, Auburn, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas, are a few other schools on his list as well.

With so many talented quarterbacks joining Alabama, including the No. 1 overall player and quarterback of the 2020 class, Bryce Young, it’s no surprise a talented player like Ewers would want his shot to play for the Tide.
