The Dallas Cowboys assault on the middle tier of the NFL’s Top 100 for 2020 continues. Ater two placements in the No. 100-71 group on Sunday (Jaylon Smith at 88 and Tyron Smith at 76) three more players have been identified in the ranking from their peers.

Right guard Zack Martin was named No. 55 and then WR Amari Cooper checked in at No. 49. Now, quarterback Dak Prescott has been announced as the No. 46 player in the league heading into the new season after the best season of his career and one of the best in Cowboys history.

Prescott threw for 4,902 yards and 30 touchdowns, both career highs, in 2019. He was also sacked the least amount of times in his career (23) while setting career highs in yards per attempt, yards per completion and net yards per attempt. He also led the NFL in defense-adjusted yards above replacement, a metric that measures how well a player did while accounting for game situation and opponent strength.

Playing under the final year of his contract, Prescott proved he belonged in the upper tier of NFL quarterback and was slapped with the exclusive franchise tag, earning him a $31.4 million salary for 2020.

With new head coach Mike McCarthy taking over, Prescott will have the chance to show he can thrive in multiple systems, which would only lead to a more lucrative payday next offseason.
