Tua Tagovailoa’s road back from a hip injury suffered against Mississippi State last season has been long and difficult, but the news continues to be positive.

On Monday afternoon, NFL insider Ian Rapoport with NFL.com revealed that the Alabama quarterback recently underwent his four-month scans today. The feedback? Well as mentioned before, it couldn’t have been more positive.

Today marked an important step in the healing process, as Tagovailoa will now begin working towards officially getting back on the field. Of course, he’s been doing that since the injury occurred, but today’s news means he is inching closer towards a return.

So, what does that mean for the top 5 prospect’s NFL draft stock? Well, it’s starting to look more-and-more likely that Tagovailoa could hear his name called as soon as No. 2 overall.

Whether that is in fact the Washington Redskins, who currently hold that pick, or another franchise who trades up remains to be seen, but Tagovailoa’s overall talent has never been of serious question.

Where the Honolulu (Hawaii) native lands in the draft will be a major turning point for how the rest of the first round ends up, so this is something that will continue to be monitored by many.

Stay tuned for more updates from Roll Tide Wire on the health and progress of Tagovailoa, especially with Alabama’s Pro Day coming up on April 9!
