We’re not quite at the running-out-of-bounds-for-a-safety level of Detroit Lions hilarity, but the 2022 edition of the Lions still manage to embarrass themselves — even in competitive games.
The Lions dropped to 1-6 on the season after Sunday’s 31-27 Week 8 loss to the Dolphins, and it will be tough to ignore the rough series that cornerback Amani Oruwariye had to start the third quarter. After allowing a couple receptions on a long Dolphins drive, Oruwariye completely lost where he was with Miami lining up for first and goal from the one-yard line.
You can watch a lot of football, and you probably won’t see any player line up offsides more blatantly than Oruwariye did right there.

Like, how did he not realize that the ball was behind him there? He’s looking right at it! It wasn’t even close.
The Dolphins would score on the next play, and NFL fans used that screenshot as a great excuse to mock the Lions.
