NFC East Draft Roundup: Eagles get speed, Giants get bulk, Redskins get Young

The Cowboys made out like bandits during the 2020 draft. How did the rest of the NFC East do?

Washington Redskins

Round 1: DE Chase Young (No. 2)
Round 3: RB Antonio Gibson (No. 66)
Round 4: OT Saadiq Charles (No. 107)
Round 4: WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (No. 142)
Round 5: C Keith Ismael (No. 156)
Round 5: OLB Khaleke Hudson (No. 162)
Round 7: S Karmen Curl (No. 216)
Round 7: DE James Smith-Williams (No. 229)

For the fourth straight year, Washington drafted a defensive lineman in the first round. Arguably the best player available in the draft, Chase Young joins a Redskins pass rush that includes Montez Sweat, Jonathan Allen, Matt Ioannidis, Da’Ron Payne, and Ryan Kerrigan. New HC Ron Rivera definitely has plenty of firepower upfront to do battle in the NFC East.

Washington also finally ended their year-long saga with seven-time Pro Bowl LT Trent Williams, trading him to the 49ers (and reuniting him with Kyle Shanahan) for a pair of draft picks.

Williams lost trust and patience with the Redskins after allegedly botched medical exams. He didn’t play in a single game last season, insisting on being either being released or traded.

The Redskins most fun draft pick however, might’ve been Antonio Gibson, the versatile RB/WR from Memphis. He scored 12 total touchdowns and recorded 1,104 total yards of offense last year.
