Newest Boston Celtics forward Justin Jackson talks about making the team

“(I’m) definitely looking forward to coming to an already great team,” said Jackson.

Newest Boston Celtics forward Justin Jackson spoke to the media after his first practice with the team as part of the Celtics’ 2022-23 NBA season roster.

“It’s a blessing for sure,” the Houston native said of making the team after a tough start in Boston’s earlier preseason games.

“(I’m) definitely looking forward to coming to an already great team, an already great historical organization, and just learning as much I can and contributing in whatever ways I can possibly contribute,” added Jackson.

The former North Carolina standout produced 16 points and 4 rebounds against the Charlotte Hornets on Oct. 7. In that game, he hit half of his eight 3-point attempts. The effort likely cast the deciding vote in his campaign to make the team.
