Analyzing Saturday’s New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays odds and lines, with expert MLB picks, predictions and best bets.

The New York Yankees (17-16) continue a 3-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays (27-6) Saturday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Yankees vs. Rays odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Rays lead 1-0

The Yankees suffered a 5-4 loss to the Rays in Friday’s series opener. New York fell behind 4-0 but tied it in the top of the 6th with a 4-run inning. However, the Rays scored the eventual winning run in the bottom of the 7th on SS Wander Franco’s RBI double.

The Yankees have dropped 6 of their past 8 games on the road, while going 1-5 in the past 6 road outings against a right-handed starting pitcher.

The Rays have won 8 of the past 10 in Game 2 of a series, while going 6-2 in the past 8 games inside the AL East Division.

Yankees at Rays picks and predictions

Prediction

Rays 4, Yankees 2

Moneyline

Tampa Bay (-190) is a little on the expensive side, costing nearly 2 times the potential return. For a standalone wager, or even in a multi-team parlay, playing such a heavy favorite drains all the value out of a ticket.

PASS, and look to the run line instead.

Run line/Against the spread

TAMPA BAY -1.5 (+105) offers better value than backing the heavy moneyline, although I expect it to be close like Friday’s opener.

The Yankees are 14-7 in the past 21 games inside the division, but they are 0-5 in the past 5 against winning teams and 1-6 in the past 7 on the road against a right-handed starter. Until New York turns some of those numbers around, keeping fading the Yankees.

Over/Under

UNDER 7.5 (-110) is the lean as a pitching matchup between German and Rasmussen should mean plenty of donuts on the scoreboard.

The Under is 5-1-1 in the past 7 games against a right-handed starting pitcher for the Yankees, while going 22-8-1 in the past 31 against winning teams.

The Under is also 5-1 in the past 6 games at home for the Rays, while cashing at a 5-1 clip in the past 6 at home vs. a right-hander.
