Cortes has been awful away from home, which is why New York will fall behind early in this game. The Giants have hit better against lefties than righties on the season.
While Snell is good, he doesn’t go deep into games. He hasn’t pitched more than 4 2/3 in any start this season. The Giants have the 2nd-highest bullpen ERA (4.36) in the MLB, which is why the Yankees will make a late-inning comeback to win this game.
New York is 23-11 away from Yankee Stadium this season. They have a team 2.77 ERA and their opponents are hitting just .213 against them on the road. It would be much better if it weren’t for Cortes.
