Class of 2024 quarterback prospect Maurice Williams is set to visit Rutgers football on Thursday during the first week of spring practice.
Williams is a quarterback prospect at Orange High School (Orange, N.J.). Last season for Orange, who were 5-5 on the year, he threw for 1,274 yards (61-of-124 passing attempts) for 19 passing touchdowns and just two interceptions. He also had four rushing touchdowns on 48 carries for 488 rushing yards.
He missed three games last season due to injury.
“Things are going great. Me and the coaches talk on an almost daily basis, sending me words of encouragement,” Williams told Rutgers Wire.
“Definitely one of my favorite colleges in the recruiting process.”
This week, he will meet Rutgers offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca for the first time. Ciarrocca is a veteran offensive coordinator who was at Minnesota last year.
He has extensive experience as a college offensive coordinator, including a recent stop at Penn State. Williams hopes “to speak to (Ciarrocca) once I get there and build that relationship.”

With an impressively strong arm but also good feet and balance, Williams is a dual-threat quarterback who can make plays out of the pocket. But he also has the ability to place his deep ball well, allowing his downfield targets to make plays.
“My recruitment is going great, lots of colleges are starting to take an interest in me,” Williams said.
“I have a Penn State visit on March 1 and a Syracuse visit on March 8. Many others are to be determined.”
