Neville Gallimore runs third fastest 40-yard dash by 300-pound defensive lineman since 2000

Oklahoma’s Neville Gallimore just ran one of the fastest 40-yard dashes at the NFL Combine by a 300-pound defensive lineman.

The big fella can run.

Oklahoma’s Neville Gallimore, who weighed in at this year’s NFL Combine at 304 pounds, set the NFL Draft world on fire from the start of his day to workout in Indianapolis.

Gallimore was expected to run a really fast 40-yard dash as reviews of him working out have always been astronomically high. Well, the Canadian lived up those expectations, running a 4.79 40-yard dash on Saturday.

That time is good for the third-fastest 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine by a 300-pound defensive lineman since 2000. Nebraska’s Khalil Davis, who is a participant this year at the Combine, ran a 4.75 40-yard dash and Florida’s Jaye Howard ran a 4.78 in 2012.

Gallimore is currently going through on-field drills before finishing up his athletic testing.

This far in the NFL Draft process, the former Oklahoma defensive tackle has been seen as a second and third-round prospect, which could change after today.

During his five-year career for the Sooners, Gallimore won five Big 12 Championships. He played in 46 games, recorded 147 tackles, 17 of which were for loss and includes 8.5 sacks.

The NFL Combine is currently taking place and can be seen on NFL Network. Oklahoma’s Kenneth Murray will be participating later on on Saturday.
