The Brooklyn Nets are in the midst of a five-game losing streak and at this point, they are running out of games to make up ground on the Atlanta Hawks. Brooklyn has another tough game coming up against their cross-town rival in the New York Knicks, but they should be getting back one of their starters.
In the Nets’ injury report ahead of Saturday’s afternoon matchup at the Knicks, there is a new addition to the report, but some good news came along with that. Starting power forward Dorian Finney-Smith, who missed Thursday’s 115-108 loss at the Milwaukee Bucks due to left ankle soreness, is off the report and is good to go against New York.
Cam Johnson started in place of Finney-Smith against Milwaukee, but with Finney-Smith returning, Johnson will head back to the bench. Backup guard Dennis Smith Jr. is listed as probable for Saturday’s game due to left hip soreness.
Smith did not show any signs of his hip giving him any issues in Thursday’s matchup with the Bucks so this sounds like something that popped up after the game. If Smith ends up missing Saturday’s game, that should mean more minutes for Lonnie Walker IV and Trendon Watford.
