On Saturday, multiple news outlets, including USA TODAY, projected that Joe Biden will win the state of Pennsylvania and earn the 270 required Electoral College votes needed to win the presidency of the United States.

The news comes as Biden’s lead in Pennsylvania grew to more than 28,000 votes following three days of counting over 2.6 million mail-in ballots. Including Pennsylvania, votes were still being counted in other swing states that could push Biden’s total Electoral College vote to 306.

Biden, 77, will become the oldest president in American history with the victory while running mate Kamala Harris will be the first Black woman to be elected vice president. She will also be the highest-ranking woman to ever serve in the government.

Americans instantly flooded streets in cities across the country, like New York City, Philadelphia and Atlanta, to celebrate the victory and also took to social media to share their reactions. Players from around the NBA also joined in to celebrate the news.

Of course, the NBA played an integral role in raising awareness on social injustice issues, voter registrations and other similar movements throughout the year. The league dedicated its season restart to creating meaningful change against racism and that effort paid off this year.

From LeBron James to Donovan Mitchell, players hopped on Twitter on Saturday afternoon to offer reaction to the news of Biden becoming the 46th president in the United States.
