PHILADELPHIA–There isn’t much that Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid can’t do while out on the basketball court. He can take guys off the dribble, knock down step-back jumpers, take games over in the blink of an eye, and do that on Sunday.
With the No. 1 seed in the West, the Utah Jazz, in town for a visit, the Sixers needed a huge night from their star big man. With not a lot going right for the rest of the team, Embiid stepped up and delivered a performance for the ages.
Embiid poured in a career-high 59 points on 19-for-28 shooting, he pulled down 11 rebounds, he had eight assists, and he tied his career-high with seven blocks in a 105-98 win at home. After it was over, his teammates were in awe of him and what he did out on the floor.
