Monty Rice declares for 2021 NFL Draft, will skip Peach Bowl

Georgia football ILB Monty Rice has officially entered the 2021 NFL Draft, opting out of the 2021 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on New Years Day.

Georgia will be without their star inside linebacker and leader of the Dawgs defense come January 1st.   Monty Rice has officially declared for the 2021 NFL Draft, announcing that he will be missing the 2021 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl against the undefeated No. 8 Cincinnati Bearcats.

Rice made his announcement via Twitter with a heartfelt thank you to his family, coaches, teammates and fans.

Rice had an incredible career playing for head coach Kirby Smart in Athens.  He has accounted for 219 total tackles (115 solo), 2 sacks, 10.5 tackles for loss, 5 pass deflections, 3 forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one touchdown.

Rice’s electricity on the defensive side of the ball has truly been amazing to watch over the past four years.  He was a special one, and will be missed dearly by all of Dawg Nation.  Thank you Monty, and best of luck in the next chapter of your football career.
