Montana Fouts named ‘SEC Pitcher of the Week’

Alabama softball pitcher Montana Fouts was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week for her 11 shutout innings, only allowing one hit and one walk.

Alabama softball is on a hot start, as many expected. With a perfect 4-0 record and a run differential of 29-0, the Crimson Tide is rolling.

While the team is playing well and ranked No. 8 in the nation, one player is deserving of a spotlight: junior pitcher Montana Fouts.

Fouts has pitched 11 innings and has only allowed one walk and one hit. She has 20 strikeouts and a combined perfect game under her belt.

The Kentucky native is no stranger to winning awards, and will surely have her named called numerous times throughout the season.

Alabama has taken down Alabama State, Notre Dame and Louisville twice. Next up for the Crimson Tide will be Liberty at home on Friday, Feb. 19.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to post updates on the Alabama softball team as the 2021 season continues.
